WHO WE ARE

About Avista Food Safety

Our team members who are trained in a Risk-BasedTM methodology from farm to fork, have a combined 100-plus years in farming, manufacturing, distribution, and restaurants – all in the field of food safety and quality.

Avista’s Risk-BasedTM food safety professionals understand that food safety programs that are not data-driven and implemented on a strong food safety culture, are significantly more difficult to sustain and pose a high potential for food safety events to occur.

It is this emphasis on a data-driven model, due diligence, and food safety culture that have proven to be the difference in the way we work with our clients and the reason why potential clients reach out to us for our services.

Avista Food Safety was founded by two tenured food safety professionals who one day asked themselves an interesting question, “Why with new stringent regulations and GFSI standards, do critical food safety events continue to increase in the food industry?” Based on that simple question, Avista was launched to forge a better way to ensure the safety of our food supply chain.  Our team members, who are trained in a Risk-BasedTM methodology from farm to fork, have a combined 100-plus years in farming, manufacturing, distribution, and restaurants – all in the field of food safety and quality.

Years of working in the food industry and observing the alarming trend in food safety events, even after stringent government regulations and widespread GFSI implementation, opened our minds to discovering a different approach to assisting clients with the enhancement of their food safety programs.  The Avista approach is driven by a deeper focus on risk-based data and human intelligence to help drive a robust food safety culture in clients’ organizations.
